#SoxServe

Thank you to Chicago White Sox Charities for supporting kids and families at ChicagoCAC with a $35,000 grant for our Family Hope Center! We put this funding to good use with our individual therapy, family support groups and caregiver programming to help Chicagoans heal from the trauma of child sexual abuse. ‪#‎soxserve‬

Keeping Children Safe Word Cloud

At the end of our Keeping Children Safe training, we asked attendees to share one or two words to describe how they feel about bringing this information into their own communities. We’re excited to see so many positive responses – letting us know that our trainees are empowered, comfortable and hopeful about preventing sexual abuse!

2016 Merit Award

We were thrilled to be honored with a Chicago Building Congress 2016 Merit Award for our new addition! Congratulations and thank you to Holabird & Root and the Public Building Commission for all of their work to create the beautiful new spaces where our families heal, our community learns and our staff work to protect children and families!

Peace Exchange Training

Thanks to the wonderful young adults from The Peace Exchange who came out to the center for a tour and to learn about our violence prevention and intervention strategies. In preparation for their trip to South Africa this summer, they were eager to learn about our work and our trauma-informed environment, and we were inspired by their energy and commitment to making a difference for kids and families!

Sexual Abuse Speak Out

We’re thrilled to host Sexual Abuse Speak Out’s fifth anniversary poetry slam, SLAM4SAAM! Join us at the center this Saturday, April 23 from 6 to 9 p.m. to hear powerful performances of experiencing or supporting a loved one in the aftermath of sexual abuse, sexual assault and other traumas.
