In recognition of April as Child Abuse Prevention Month, Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center will be hosting our fourth annual installment of “We exist,” a public awareness display that features children’s, caregivers’ and professionals’ stories of preventing, recognizing, responding to and reporting child sexual abuse. Minimizing Trauma to Help Kids Heal

For kids who have been abused, talking about the experience can be painful. ChicagoCAC and our fellow child advocacy centers were founded to minimize that trauma and to preserve evidence so a child doesn’t have to tell and retell what happened to them. From our welcoming building, to our friendly and compassionate staff members, to the nature of our partnerships with law enforcement and child protection teams, we make it easier for kids to come forward and begin healing faster and more fully.

Apply today for our internships and externships

We are now accepting applications for fall internships in our family advocacy, social work, prevention and other departments, as well as a psychology externship and a post-doctoral fellow. In addition to helping children and families heal from sexual abuse, interns at ChicagoCAC receive professional supervision and are able to participate in clinical trainings.
