Minimizing Trauma to Help Kids Heal

For kids who have been abused, talking about the experience can be painful. ChicagoCAC and our fellow child advocacy centers were founded to minimize that trauma and to preserve evidence so a child doesn’t have to tell and retell what happened to them. From our welcoming building, to our friendly and compassionate staff members, to the nature of our partnerships with law enforcement and child protection teams, we make it easier for kids to come forward and begin healing faster and more fully.

Our Core Values

Beyond our mission and vision, ChicagoCAC has core values that represent our commitment to our clients, our staff and our community. First and foremost, we believe that freedom from abuse and exploitation is a basic human right. Learn more about what we believe and what it means for families who need us.

Apply today for our internships and externships

We are now accepting applications for fall internships in our family advocacy, social work, prevention and other departments, as well as a psychology externship and a post-doctoral fellow. In addition to helping children and families heal from sexual abuse, interns at ChicagoCAC receive professional supervision and are able to participate in clinical trainings.

Our Results

Last year, we served more families than ever before – and we expect to see even more in 2016. Help us be here for the children who need us by making a donation today! Remember, your donations help ensure that all of our services are free of charge to every client, every time.

PBC: ChicagoCAC Expansion Project Video

Public Building Commission of Chicago created this beautiful video to show what our new addition means to kids and families in our city. PBC served as the developer for our project, coordinated the design and procurement and managed construction of the addition on behalf of the City of Chicago. The city’s commitment of $9 million in funding from the Western/Ogden TIF district supported the project, and ChicagoCAC’s Growing & Giving campaign is raising an additional $2.5 million in private funding through 2018.
