We CAN Hope: Strengthening Chicago’s Domestic Violence Response with the Family Justice Center Model

October 17, 10 AM – 12 PM

Presented by Colleen Montgomery, LCSW, ICDVP, CCTP, Program Director for CAN Hope; Kavita D’Souza, MSW, Program Manager for CAN Hope; Araceli Estrella, Bilingual Navigator for CAN Hope

Domestic violence is a public health crisis and a community safety threat, requiring coordinated, survivor-centered solutions. Family Justice Centers (FJCs) across the country have demonstrated that bringing public and private institutions, such as advocates, health providers, and social service agencies, together under one roof significantly improves safety, healing, and accountability for all.

This webinar will highlight the evidence-based impact of the Family Justice Center model—drawing on lessons learned from established FJCs nationwide—while introducing CAN Hope, ChicagoCAC’s new Family Justice Center. Participants will explore how CAN Hope is designed to reduce barriers for survivors, strengthen collaboration among diverse partners, and create long-term strategies to address domestic violence as public health and safety priorities.

This session is ideal for public health leaders, service providers, policymakers, community advocates, and institutional partners seeking to deepen their understanding of how coordinated responses to domestic violence can foster resilience, safety, and hope. For a small fee, CEUs will be available to qualified professionals.
