We are looking for volunteers to help out in our garden!
The ChicagoCAC is looking for volunteers to help us tend to our garden. Located in a central courtyard within the ChicagoCAC, our garden offers a green space for those to relax while visiting our facility. The garden features a koi pond, wildflowers, milkweed, and a variety of vegetables donated by Gethsemane.
We are looking for about 10 volunteers who are able to come in twice a week for an hour each day. Main duties will include pulling weeds, harvesting vegetables, and preparing the garden for seasonal changes. It is recommended that volunteers bring a hat, sunscreen, clothes that can get dirty, and something to sit or kneel on. Volunteers must be able to sit or kneel for an extended period of time.Â
Please note:Â Due to the confidential nature of our services, volunteer opportunities that offer direct interaction with clients are very limited. All volunteers must be 18 or older and clear our ChicagoCAC background check before their volunteering assignment.Â
