Update March 22, 2020:
The health and well-being of our staff and those who utilize our services are our top priority during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Children who may be isolated with an abusive family member continue to be a concern for Children’s Advocacy Centers across the country, including all of us here at ChicagoCAC. Our work continues during this crisis.
ChicagoCAC remains OPEN for investigations. We have limited staff on-site, conducting forensic interviews and family support alongside our detectives and DCFS. We are taking extra precautions to sanitize surfaces, and we are reducing the number of staff and visitors present in the building at any given time. Only cases considered an emergency are being scheduled, while others will be postponed until the crisis is over.
Mental health services are all being provided through Zoom sessions.
All in-person meetings and trainings involving community members are canceled until further notice. The meeting organizer will contact attendees to determine if a conference call will occur in its stead.
Education and training staff will be in touch with individual organizations who had a scheduled training in March or April about rescheduling or providing education via video conference.
If you have questions or concerns, contact your staff person, or call (312) 492-3700.
