Charter One Bank and CCAC Partner for “Change for Children” Campaign
March 26, 2007Loose Change Collected During Child Abuse Prevention Month to benefit the Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center
CHICAGO—The Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center (CCAC)-which provides coordinated services from legal, medical, child protective and social service professionals to Chicagoland’s sexually abused children-has teamed with Charter One Bank to launch “Change for Children,” a fundraising campaign held throughout Child Abuse Prevention Month in April. During the campaign, companies and organizations throughout Chicago will collect loose change from employees and then donate it back to the CCAC through Charter One Bank.
“Charter One is committed to making a real and lasting difference in our communities and we are proud of the relationship we’ve built with the Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center,” said Scott C. Swanson, President and CEO of Charter One Bank, Illinois. “Through ‘Change for Children,’ we encourage all participating companies to join us in our efforts to ensure that sexually abused children in our local community receive the attention and care that is sorely needed.”
Participating businesses are urged to be creative in their “Change for Children” fundraising efforts. Ideas include establishing inter-department competitions, paying for the privilege of wearing jeans or leaving work an hour early, or paying a quarter every time you enter the boss’ office. At the end of April, companies can take their “Change for Children” change to any participating Charter One Bank and donate the change directly into the CCAC account.
The Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center houses all of the agencies and child care professionals that work with sexually abused children under one roof. Partner agencies include the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, Cook County State’s Attorneys Office, The Chicago Police Department and the Cook County Bureau of Health Services. All agencies are housed in one building working towards the common goal of providing hope and healing for sexually abused children.
