Sheriff Tom Dart and Dick Devine Honored at Founders Luncheon
Hundreds were on hand for the first day of Child Abuse Prevention Month to honor Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart and CCAC Founder Dick Devine at the Annual CCAC Founders Luncheon on April 1 in the Grand Ballroom at the Hilton Chicago. Both men received awards for their commitment to children and ongoing support of the CCAC.
Grant Health Care Foundation was presented with the Inaugural Tad Carr Foundation Award in memory of Tad Carr, a member of the CCAC Advisory Board since 2005 and a passionate advocate for underprivileged and vulnerable children throughout Chicago.
Northern Trust Chairman and CEO Rick Waddell accepted the John E. Rooney Corporate Citizenship Award honoring a corporation that exemplifies compassion for children in need and in crisis. While accepting the award, Rick announced that Northern Trust would match the raffle funds raised at the luncheon. As a result, the Founders Challenge Raffle raised a total of $20,000!
Special thanks our Founders Luncheon sponsors, everyone who attended, and photographer’s Duane Savage (http://www.savagesphoto.com) and Shari Gunaka for their support and commitment to Chicago’s abused children.
