CCAC Collecting Old Cell Phones to Recycle for Emergency Usage
The Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center is involved in a partnership with the Cook County Sheriff’s Office to collect unwanted cell phones that will be recycled and given to families for emergency 9-1-1 calls only. The partnership was facilitated by U.S. Cellular, the Center’s largest and longest-standing corporate partner.
“We are very excited about being involved in this program,” said CCAC Director of Programs Kathy Grzelak. “By recycling old phones for emergency use, we will be helping to providing a critical link between law enforcement and someone in trouble.”
