Where is the CCAC located?

The CCAC is located at 1240 South Damen Avenue, Chicago, IL 60608.
The hours of operation are Mon.-Fri. 7 am - 11pm; Weekends 9 am - 5 pm.
We are open 365 days a year.


Is the CCAC a non-profit corporation?

Yes, the CCAC is a non-profit tax-exempt 501(c)(3), incorporated in Illinois.


How is the CCAC governed?

The CCAC has an independent Board of Directors. The board meets six times each year. The CCAC is also governed by the multidisciplinary management team, composed of the leaders of the CCAC’s partner agencies and the Center’s own staff.


How many employees does the CCAC have?

Including partner agency staff, the CCAC has about 140 employees.


What are the Advocacy Center’s partner agencies?

The partner agencies that make up the multidisciplinary team are:

  • Illinois Department of Children and Family Services
  • Chicago Police Department
  • Cook County State’s Attorneys
  • Cook County Bureau of Health Services


What is the CCAC’s relationship with the City of Chicago?

Mayor Richard M. Daley started the Center in 1998, when he recognized that sexually abused children in Chicago were not getting adequate treatment or support. Today, the CCAC receives operating support from the City of Chicago.


How is the CCAC funded?

The Center’s annual budget is approximately $5 million each year. About 60% of our budget is funded by government sources. The remaining 40% is funded by private donations by foundations, corporate and individual gifts.
